La Escuela de la Musica Mexicana/Casa de la Musica Mexicana, S.A. is a unique institution located on Calle Francisco Gonzalez Bocanegra (composer of Mexico's National Anthem), and in the heart of Mexico City's "marimba district." This institution has faculty who are expert practionners in the Mexican folkloric musical genres, such as mariachi, jarocho, huasteco, marimba, and others. Daniel Garcia Blanco is the Director of this school, which operates as a type of evening program. Its students work during the day in all sorts of occupations.
